Manga Workshop

Manga (kanji: 漫画) consist of comics and print cartoons, in the Japanese language and conforming to the style developed in Japan in the late 19th century. In their modern form, manga date from shortly after World War II, but they have a long, complex pre-history in earlier Japanese art.

Modern manga originated in the Occupation (1945–1952) and post-Occupation years (1952–early 1960s), while a previously militaristic and ultra-nationalist Japan rebuilt its political and economic infrastructure. An explosion of artistic creativity occurred in this period, involving manga artists such as Osamu Tezuka (Astro Boy) and Machiko Hasegawa (Sazae-san).

But, what characterizes a manga?, What elements compose it and we should keep in mind to draw one?. This class explains the basics of manga, the differentiation of this one from other styles, what are the genders in which is divided the Japanese industry, what are the topics on the manga style and the graphical features of manga works.

This class developed by the artist Alejandro Ricondo is aimed to those who like to draw and are drawn to the manga style, but do not know how to begin to build their work.
